Jalandhar 12 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Two days seminar which was organized at a renowned educational Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, by the Centre for Punjabi Culture and Folklore Studies, on the Subject of ‘BhagtiKaav’ left an indelible mark today. On the second day of the seminar, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Former Head of Punjabi Department, Guru Nanak Dev University and Dr. Surjit Singh Bhatti From Punjabi University from Patiala made their special appearance in the seminar. While, Punjabi anaylist and Poet Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla Was the Chief guest for the second day of the seminar. These influential literary figures were cordly welcomed with a bunch of flower by the principal of the college, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head of the Punjabi Department and Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Director of the Centre. Addressing to the students, the Principal said that ‘Bhagat Bani’ has its stability even in contemporary time because their ideology for Social Equality is really a boon for us. Eminent figure, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, told about the History of Bhagti Movement, PremaBhagti and Bhagat Bani and its importance in our life in a detailed manner. Another literary figure, Dr. Surjit Singh Bhatti made us familiar with the importance of Bani created by bhagat Ravidas ji and its significance in present time. Prof. Kuldeep Kaur Dosanjh, from the Punjabi Department viewed on the Love for God and human ideology in Bhagat Ravidas’ Bani. And Prof. Sunita presented a paper in the seminar on the history and principle of ‘BhagtiKaav’. The chief guest of the seminar, Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla, told the importance of Bhagat bani in Punjabi literature and the characteristics of Bhagti movement in detailed manner. Two days report about the seminar was presented by Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, the director of the centre. At the end of the Seminar, Prof. Gopal Singh Butter thanked the chief guest, teachers, students and others who were presented over there. On the second day of the seminar, Prof. Satnam Singh made his significant contribution in handling the stage.
