Jalandhar 18 May (Jaswinder Azad)- PG department of Commerce and Management of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized an educational visit to the regional office of Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh. The visit was organized for the students of B.Voc. (Banking and Financial Services) and B.Com (Hons.). The inaugural address was given by Regional Director Mrs. Rachna Dixit. Mr. Piyush, Assistant General Manager, Department of Non Banking Supervision deliberated on the topic of ‘Role of RBI as Supervisor’. Mr. Jagdish Chander, Assistant General Manager, Office of the Banking Ombudsman scheme explained about the different areas allotted to Banking Ombudsman scheme, the complaints which can be entertained under the scheme, the procedural formalities for lodging a complaint and the remedies available. Mr. Manish Gupta, Assistant General Manager, Issue Department explained the currency management system and network, institutional arrangements, clean note policy of RBI and features of a legitimate currency note. He also explained about CVPS (Currency Verification and Processing System) and Shredding and Breeding system. The students are also shown the compressed bricks which are made after the shredding of bad notes. Faculty members Dr. Meenakshi Duggal and Mrs. Yuvika accompanied the students. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated HOD commerce Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur and appreciated the efforts of the department. She encouraged the students to take part in such educational visits.
