Jalandhar 31 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Innocent Hearts School G.M.T., Loharan, C.J.R. and Royal World School presented a Street Play on the occasion of “No Tobacco Day” spreading a message to stop the use of tobacco. Like every year, this year also, the students were made aware of the message against tobacco and asked to share it with their parents and neighbours thereby reaching each household in the society. The Street Play stressed the harmful effects that tobacco has on the body of an individual. The intake of this substance causes diseases such as cancer which can prove fatal. It leads to a decrease in the appetite of a person and over time the mental ability also decreases and it can be responsible for the end of the life of a person. The students used banners showing the effect of tobacco through slogans like “Smoking is Injurious to Health” “Tobacco leads to Death” “Tobacco menace and its prevention”. The aim is to enable the children to pass on the message that “Intake of Tobacco is an Invitation to Cancer” amongst the students and to increase awareness in society. Finally the children took an oath not to take tobacco ever in their whole life and also encourage others in their neighbourhood not to do so.
