Jalandhar 19 May (Jaswinder Azad)- The Lyallpur Khalsa college, a Prestigious institution of North’s India, is always known for its quality Education, Sports and various sorts of Cultural activities. In this institution, scholarship and many other facilities are provided for deserving candidates so that they could grow better. The worthy principal of the college, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, made students awarded about the various sorts of scholarship which are given here viz. Sihota scholarship, Jatt sikh council scholarship, Harjinder Kaur scholarship, scholarships which are given by Lions clubs, Manav Sehyog Society, SD. Jaswant Rai Memorial public charitable trust and Prof. Sarita Tiwari. Scholarship. It is not enough, a renowned institution of United kingdom i.e. Michael Sehgal is also providing scholarship of 12 lakhs to the students of the college. Dr. Samra, further, especially mentioned about a particular student of the college who was given admission with one hundred rupee only. After that, this student was given free scholarship for his study because of his securing merit position in university. At present time, he is studying his engineering in Petroleum trade at IIT. Near Kharaghpur. Further, Principal told that during the session of 2017-18, 124 students of the college secured merit positions in university and brought credit to the college. Moreover, The Principal said that students who have passed their +2 class by securing 95% or more are given free ship for their studies. But this free ship is remained with the student until he/she does not maintain his/her percentage ahead. In the same way, students who secure 80% in the same class are given 20% concession and students securing 90% are given 25% concession at the time of their admission here. Students who belong to any course, which is run by most of the university’s colleges , are given scholarship if they secure any one position at the top three of university examination .If students secure first position in university exams then they are given totally free ship for their further studies. On the other hand, If they get second or third position , they are given 75% and 60% fee concession respectively. While, who stand on merit position in university examinations, are provided 40% fee deduction. The Principal told that students who secure first, second and third university position in those courses which are limited in some colleges, are awarded 50%, 40% and 30% in their fee concession respectively. And those who secure only merit position in university exams are provided 15% fee concession. The worthy Principal, Further, told that alongwith studies, students who also make their unique identity in sports, culture and research are awarded with “The Role Of Honour” award alongwith helping in their economic condition. In the same way, Students who secure first position in Youth Festival in more than one item are given an amount of Rs 10,000/- as an award. And those who secure first position in one item, are given Rs 7000/- and on securing second and third position, are given Rs 5000/- both. Students who get positions in the university sports competitions are provided free living, food ,training and many other facilities in this college. And Those who represent at the international level are also given many facilities by the college. On account of this reason, many students are showing their interest in order to take admission in this prestigious institution.
