Jalandhar 5 May (Jaswinder Azad)- World coalminers’ day was celebrated in the campus of the DIPS Suranussi. Where the importance & type of coal and the strenuous job of the coal miners were explained to the students specially the students of class xi& xii. Different practical’s were conducted in the school Laboratory to find the composition of coal which comprises of various elements like nitrogen , oxygen, carbon, sulphur ect. Students were also explained how miners run the risk of respiratory damage through high levels of dust and other chemical particulates present in deep coal mining. A message was sent through this activity to use this natural resource wisely and carefully for the extraction of which our miners risk their own precious lives. School principal Mrs. Bela Kapoor also made the students aware about the need to conserve this natural resource by optimum usage and to recognize the continuous and earnest efforts of coal miners.
