HMV student topped in B.Sc. Biotech Sem VI

Jalandhar 6 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Km. Sumandeep Kaur, a student of B.Sc. Biotech Sem-VI of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya bagged top position in Guru Nanak Dev University. She scored 2396 marks and stood first in the University. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen congratulated Sumandeep Kaur and her parents. She said that the department of biotechnology is actively engaged in different research projects. The students of the department are also actively engaged in various research projects guided by the faculty members in the departmental laboratories itself as the labs are well equipped with state of art infrastructure, having rare equipments like Gel-Doc system, Fluorescent Microscope, Bench top Ferments etc. and other computer mediated software for data analysis, etc.  She also told that after completion of Graduation, the students has been selected for various institutes of higher learning like IIT, JAM, GNDU, Punjab University, IMTECH, CIAB Mohali, etc. for their M. Sc. and Ph. D. Programs. The students of the department are well placed in various organisations like Pushpa Gujral Science City Kapurthala, FCI Govt. of India, Education department, Govt. of Punjab, Nestle Moga, Panacea, etc. Beside this, the students are also placed in International Institutes like University of California Barclay, USA and University of Seatle, Canada. On this occasion, Head of Biotech Department Dr. Jatinder Kumar was also present. He is also working on research projects related with Environmental Biotechnology.
