Jalandhar 14 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Autonomous & Heritage Institution was felicitated by KMV faculty for completing 10 years of her exemplary service to this glorious institution. It was way back, on this very day, ten years back when she took the charge of Principal KMV, since then KMV has scaled unprecedented heights of glory and success. A sterling personality who possesses the finest qualities of head and heart, Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi has steered KMV with vision, hindsight and acumen. It is under her able leadership and guidance that this glorious institution of standing of 133 years has added many firsts to its credit. It became the first women institution in this part of the region to be awarded the Heritage Status by MHRD, Govt. of India it is of the 19 colleges of India to receive this much coveted status in 2014. KMV was the first and the only college in GNDU to be awarded the DDU Kaushal Kendra by Govt. of India, only college to be awarded FIST grant by DST, Govt. of India twice. Last year KMV added another feather to its highly embellished cap by becoming the first women college of Punjab to be awarded Autonomous status. It is by dint of Prof. Atima’s untiring endeavours that KMV has stood tall by becoming the only college in the region to be awarded the Star Status. An alumna of Harvard University, USA, Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi has attended many leadership programs at Harvard University, USA. It is due to her leadership qualities that KMV has carved a comfortable niche in global arena. Presently, KMV has collaborations with reputed US universities like Chatham and Lesley University. Exchange programs with universities like Harvard and Boston is a regular feature of KMV now. It is Prof. Atima’s commitment and dedication which has been instrumental in making KMV fetch laurels in academics, co-curricular and sports activities. KMV faculty felicitated Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi for having made colossal contribution to KMV and averred that the KMV graph is constantly on the rise and is touching newer horizons under her able guidance. It is the qualities instilled by her that KMV faculty displays impeccable team work and remains charged with positive energy. Among the faculty members Mrs. Seema Jain, Mrs. Parminder, Dr. Madhumeet, Dr. Updesh, Dr. Vinod Kalra, Ms. Hardeep, Dr. Neeraj Maini, Mrs. Ashoo Bajaj, Mrs. Niti Kapoor, Dr. Gopi Sharma, Mrs. Sadhna Tandon, Mrs. Satinder, Dr. Gurjot, Mrs. Suman Khurana, Dr. Manmohan, Dr. Neeraj Sharma and Mrs. Veena Deepak were present.
