Jalandhar 7 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Under the mighty guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and under the worthy guidance of Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, Coordinator School, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized Virasat-e-Punjab 2018. Various competitions were conducted in this Heritage Art programme like Antique products, Scrap books, Poster and Chart making etc. Nearly 600 students of SSC I and SSC II participated in this programme. This programme was organized to revive the cultural values of the State due to the increasing drug addiction problems and the impact of westernization so that the students can be re-attached to their heritage. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen graced the occasion as the chief guest of this programme. She motivated the students to do such things in future while praising the material made by them. On this occasion, Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, Coordinator School made clear about the purpose of the programme and said culture is a human identity and forgetting culture means to get away from its identity.
Mrs. Kawaljit, HOD Punjabi, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur Athwal, Dean Holistic Development and Miss Shama Sharma, HOD Fine Arts played the role of honourable judges. In Poetry competition Harpreet Kaur SSC I, Shobita SSC I and Amandeep SSC I got first, second and third positions respectively. Harshita SSC II, Samridhi SSC II and Neha SSC II got first second and third positions respectively in Poster making competition. In Scrap book competition the students of SSC II Kulwinder Kaur, Dhreeti, Taniya, Sapna and Pallavi got first, second, third, fourth and fifth position respectively. The students of SSC I Ridhi, Jasman, Vaishnavi and Aman got first, second, third and fourth positions in Scrap book competition respectively. In the Exhibition of Antique products Kiranpreet Kaur SSC I, Tarunika Rampal SSC I, and Kiran got first, second and third positions respectively. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Coordinator School Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal congratulated the winners. On this occasion, teachers of Punjabi department, Lecturer Veerinder Kaur, Arvinder Kaur and other teachers were also present.
