Jalandhar 4 September (Gurkirat Singh)- A Felicitation Ceremony was hosted in the premises of the college to honour the students for their excellent academic performance. Dr. Prachi Kaul, Director of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Jai Singh, Department of IWL, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad was the Guest of Honour. Floral welcome was extended by the President, Governing Body, Shri Purushottam Lal Budhia, Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora, Funtion Incharge, Mrs. Sangita Sharma, Head PG Department of Economics and the Head Girl of the college to the Chief Guest and The Guest of Honour. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the release of the Annual College Magazine ‘Govind’. Memento of appreciation was conferred upon the University toppers, Merit Holders in the University and the students securing top positions in the college for the session 2017-18. 19 students secured top ten positions in the University, 98 students were placed in the merit list in various examinations conducted by the University, 53 top positions in the college and 35 students secured top positions in the senior secondary collegiate school. All the achievers were honoured with shields on the auspicious occasion. The Chief Guest congratulated 186 award winners and praised them for their hard work and perseverance. She wished them good luck for a bright and progressive future. Smt. Chandra Mohini Markanda, Advisor, DSSD Education Board, Satish Dadaji and Shri D.K. Joshi, Members of the Managing committee graced the occasion. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour received a memento as a token of gratitude by the Members of the Managing Committee.
