Jashn-e-Ustaad organized at HMV

Jalandhar 5 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Adding another milestone to its history, the students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Jashn-e-Ustaad under the benign guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  Dating back to 1962, the birthday of S. Radhakrishnan is being celebrated as a Teacher’s Day and it is a great honour that the inauguration of HMV was done by Sh. Radhakrishnan.  Principal Dr. Sareen was accorded a warm welcome by the organizing committee. Highlighting the relevance of Teacher’s Day in the present context, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen spoke at length about the intensity and piousness of student-teacher relationship.  Equating teacher’s role to that of a mother she said that it is the mother who gives us the power to speak and it is the teacher who gives us the power to add meaning to that speech.  A true teacher is a friend.  Philosopher and a guide but at the same time keeps a balance of all aspects.  In the contemporary scenario, the teachers can play a crucial role in channelizing the abundant energy of their students into the right direction.  She also conveyed the blessings of Padmashri Awardee Dr. Punam Suri, honourable President DAV College Managing Committee on this auspicious occasion.
The auditorium overflowed with the pupils excited to pay reverence to their loving teachers.  The volunteers of the Students Council came up with an entertaining show full of hilarious events.  Students  presented a choreography and Qawwali composed by them to express their love for their mentors.  Amazeball rounds of antakshari and modelling added charm to the event.  Rib-tickling performances by Dr. Kanwaldeep, Mrs. Navroop, Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Mrs. Veena Arora and Dr. Pooja Minhas were the spotlights of the day.  A poster making competition was also organized to mark the celebrations of Teachers Day. Dr. Nidhi Bal, Mrs. Navneta and Mrs.Lovleen acted as judges of the competition.  The event was organized by Dr. Kanwaldeep, Dean Academics, Mrs. Navroop, Dean Youth Welfare, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council, Mrs. Neety Sood, Dr. Neelam Sharma and Dr. Sangeeta Arora.
