Jalandhar 22 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Innocent hearts school now popularly grouped as Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions started as a play-way school in a room with just four children on its rolls. This was the brainchild of our revered madam Mrs. Kamlesh Bowry–the iron pillar behind this brand name ‘Innocent Hearts’.
Madam Kamlesh Bowry had been a dedicated teacher throughout and hence known to be a loving and caring teacher amongst her students. She had served Dayanand Model Sr. Sec. School for more than two and a half decades and her students grew professionally and acquired top positions in the society.
She was happily married to Dr. M.D. Bowry, who himself holds a name in the society for providing care and dedication to the patients. Madam Bowry, being a teacher herself and also a doctor’s wife was thinking for caring the society. She had a balanced and focused mind and vision and gave equal importance to her professional and family life. When her own children, now well-known doctors–Dr. Anup Bowry and Dr. Chander Bowry, were growing and wore to enter into their professional life, Madam Bowry gave a pause to her profession and left her job, as a teacher, from Dayanand Model Sr. Sec. School. Her main motif behind this pause to profession was to again provide good doctors (her own sons) to the society. When her sons entered/joined their professional medical college, she was induced by the thoughts of starting her own school to give her services to the society. This is how the journey of Innocent Hearts School started from a room at her residence with four children on rolls. With her continuous dedicated services, more children joined and the school acquired its own building at Green Model Town, which now comprises of a Junior Wing and the Kindergarten wing in the name of INNOKIDS. The team of teachers of Innocent Hearts had always been receiving mentoring from madam and got groomed into the caring mother-teachers. There was no-looking-back from this as Innocent Hearts grew to its school and institutes at its Loharan Campus under the name of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions (IHGI). The institutes are making the children achieve professional qualifications to face boldly the challenges of the world, and grow successfully in life. The school has now its 3rd branch at Cantt. Jandiala Road also.
IHGI also has under its Umbrella-the college of education at Green Model Town. Madam had this thought that quality teachers are needed to provide quality education to the children.
The main crunch behind this ever-growing Innocent Hearts is due to the family-like bending and attachment between the members of the school and institutions with madam Kamlesh Bowry. That’s the reason the teachers who joined Innocent Hearts at its inception are still continuing with the institution. May this bond of belongingness grow even strong and the blessings of Madam Bowry keep showering as in all!
