Around 50 students were taken for an educational trip to Jalandhar’s Pholriwal Water Treatment Plant
Jalandhar 13 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Due to modernization, water is polluted to a great extent. The water level is rapidly going down and the little water that is available is unfit for consumption as the selfish human beings are dumping the home and factory waste into it. On daily basis, 150 million litres water goes sewage way and costing Punjab on water depletion level as well. CT Public School believes in imparting wide knowledge to the students and helps them to understand beyond their books.
Around 50 students were taken for an educational trip to Jalandhar’s Pholriwal Water Treatment Plant to give them first-hand knowledge about the importance of water and how it is purified. They learnt that the processed water was being used for irrigation and construction of buildings.
The In-charge of Sewage plant, Mr. Pankaj Kumar and Mr. Vivek Kumar informed the students about the process of water cleaning. They learnt that to be clean, water should undergo a number of treatments necessary to make it drinkable. They informed that firstly, water goes for the main pumping station, through which we get 50 mm concrete from the water. After which, through fine screen method we clean the water and pull out 6 mm concrete. This leads to the transfer of water into Distribution box and it distributes the water and concrete into separate parts. Then Chlorine needs to be added in the water to kill the bacteria and unhealthy particles from the water. The water then gets included into Satluj River and the treated water being used for farming purposes by the nearby villages. They learnt about the causes of water pollution and how it could be treated for consumption and also pledged to save water.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) asserted that water is a precious gift from God and the hub of life on this planet. It is indispensable for human health and well-being; there can be no life on Earth without water. In fact, the human body is composed of 70% water. He said, “We all should consume the amount of water, we require and should not waste it. We should save every drop of it for our future generations.”
