Ceremonious commencement of 131st Academic Session in SaraswatiPooja at KMV

37 university toppers of session 2015-16 felicitated with Gold Medals
 
Jalandhar 5 August (Jaswinder Azad)- To mark the ceremonial start by 131st academic session, the Heritage Institution- KanyaMahaVidyalaya organized SaraswatiPoojan in its premises.  The Chief Guest ADCP Mrs. AmneetKondal IPS was accorded floral felicitations on this occasion.  The function was presided over by Sh. ChanderMohanji, President AryaShikshaMandal.  The proceedings of the day took off with an invocation to Saraswati-Goddess of learning to seek her choicest blessings for yet another meritorious year ahead.  Welcoming the Chief Guest, Sh. ChanderMohanji exhorted the girl-students to touch new horizons of success breaking all age-old barriers and prove their mettle in whatever field they choose.  He added that students should make the best use of college life that prepares the students for their professional growth by chiseling their mental facilities.  The college Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi read out a detailed report of college achievements and activities.  She informed the present dignitaries about the top positions bagged by scholars in GNDU exams.  Various innovative programmes, student exchange programmes and tie-ups with many US universities like Chatham University, Bostan University etc.   37 university toppers were felicitated with Gold Medals who stood first in University Exams 2015-16.
The College Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi was honoured for winning prestigious awards namely Venus International Foundation Centre for Women Empowerment, Shiromani Award for outstanding achievements in the field of education and Best Woman Achievers of the year 2016 bestowed by Doordarshan Jalandhar.  She has also submitted her project after successful completion to Harvard School of Education.  As many as 8 faculty members were also honoured for completing their Ph.Ds, Research Projects and Publishing their papers.
Congratulating the merit holders and prize winners, ADCP Mrs. AmneetKondal emphasized role of balanced and disciplined approach in life.  Quoting her own example, Mrs. Kondal urged the young girls to pursue their passion and make it their career, and not to succumb to peer pressure.  Consistent efforts will surely be rewarded with success. The organisers of the function expressed their heart-felt gratitude to the august gathering.
