Jalandhar 16 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar, celebrations of national festivals with patriotic fervor is a religious tradition. As always 15 August, 2016 was also celebrated in the true nationalistic spirit. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The national flag was hoisted and saluted to the chanting of Vande Matram and the national song. Addressing the gathering of students of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya Chatravaas and the cadets of NCC unit, she said that India is looked upon by many nations due to its demographical graph. India is rationally the most powerful nation, so we must be an guard always to protect our political freedom and also attain freedom from divisive forces which have become the reason of internal insurgencies. She also exhorted the young girls to become skilled and empower the nation economically by contributing to its economic growth. On the occasion the students of PG Dept. of music sang patriotic songs and thrilled the audience. Students were also given a platform to speak about what independence meant to them in reality. The day’s celebrations ended with distribution of sweets and left sweet memories in everyone’s mind.
