Jalandhar 20 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Richa Tiwari of B.Sc (Computer Science) of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar has been awarded Michael Sehgal Scholarship for the session 2016-17. This prestigious scholarship worth Rs.12 Lacs is awarded each year to one meritorious Computer Science student of the college, for higher studies abroad. Richa Tiwari is the 11th student to get this scholarship, the total amount awarded being one crore thirty two lacs to students of Lyallpur Khalsa College in the last eleven years. Speaking on the occasion the college Principal Dr. G.S. Samra informed the present that the college supports meritorious and outstanding students by arranging and providing them befitting scholarships, in addition to providing liberal concessions to the needy students. The President of the College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the students on this achievement. Prof. Manhoar Singh HOD Computer Science has played an instrumental role in getting scholarship for these students. The occasion was witnessed by the presence of Mrs. Parminder Beri eminent social worker, S. Manohar Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science, College Registrar Prof. Jasreen Kaur and Dr. Rashpal Singh Dean Co-curricular Activities.
