Jalandhar 25 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar believes in promoting healthy traditions. The recently organized workshop on Calligraphy by the Department of Fine Arts is a fine example of the same. In the age of computers, laptops and mobiles, writing on paper with one’s hands has been strictly limited and has seriously affected one of the finest arts i.e. Calligraphy. However at KMV, the workshop organized to teach and promote calligraphy attracted 50 volunteers. The resource person for the same was Mr. Harish Verma, who is famous in North India as a calligraphy artist. The various aesthetic and unique ways in which letters could be written was practically demonstrated by him. He left the learners hugely impressed and spell-bound with his artistic skills. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi thanked Mr. Harish for sharing and exhibiting his skills to young budding artists of the department of Fine Arts of KMV. She said, she believed live demonstration of art by mature artists could teach everyone more than many volumes of books. She congratulated Prof. Yogeshwar and Ms. Rekha from the department of Fine Arts for having organized a successful workshop.
