Jalandhar 20 October (Jaswinder Azad)- A rally was held by Non Teaching employees of colleges of district Jalandhar under the aegis of Private College Non-Teaching Employees Union, Punjab (aided and unaided) as a protest for non-acceptance of long pending genuine demands of the non teaching staff working the private aided colleges inspite of repeated reminders and meeting with the Punjab Govt. representatives. Vice President Sh. Bhupinder Thakur apprised the members that the government has not granted the enhanced medical allowance and house rent. He also emphasized that the revised grade pay w.e.f. 1st December, 2011 has also not been implemented by the government. He appealed the employees that nobody will support the candidates of Akali BJP in the next Vidhan Sabha Elections. The members also burnt the effigy of state government for showing its negative attitude towards the acceptance of the demands i.e. revised pay scale w.e.f. 1-12-11, house rent and medical allowances w.e.f. 1-8-2009, recruitment of ban from the posts of non teaching employees, 4:9:14 step up increment, pension etc. Joint Secretary Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Manav Rakhra of DAV college, Jagdish Singh of Khalsa College, Mohan Lal and Rma Shankar Tiwari, Daler Singh and Kapil of Doaba College, Ravi Maini of HMV also addressed the gathering and raised anti government slogans during their protest. On this occasion, Secretary DAV College Ram Chander, Raman Behl of HMV, Amritpal Singh, MGN College of Education, Manohar Lal, Sudarshan of Apeejay college, KRM DAV College Nakodar, Guru Nanak College Droli Kalan, Guru Nanak Khalsa College Nakodar and other members of non-teaching employees of various colleges of district were also present.
