Two Days Mega Exhibition ‘Diwali Carnival’ kicks off with great gusto

  • CT Group of Institutions in association with Coca Cola organizes the carnival displaying more than 100 stalls at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall.
  • Famous Duo Nooran Sisters leave audience spellbound with their LIVE performance at the event.
  • Various food outlets from Hotels and restaurants of Jalandhar, Mechanical and manual rides that will showcase the Cultural heritage of India linked to the festival of lights Diwali.
Jalandhar 22 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Displaying varied of Handicrafts to add charm in the festivities of Diwali, CT Group of Institutions in association with Coca Cola is organizing Two Days Mega ‘Diwali Carnival’ at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall. The carnival kicked off on Saturday where the students from Prayas School inaugurated the event and made their presence felt. At the same time, the major attraction for the first day remained the LIVE Performance by the Sufi Singer Duo- Nooran Sisters, they left city residents spell bound with their performance. Nooran sisters -- Jyoti and Sultana, shot to fame after their stint with MTV-Coke Studios and the Sufi song 'Alaah hoo'. The sisters opened the evening with the rendition of 'Allah Hoo' and belted out popular Sufi songs, including 'Dama Dum Mast Qalandar', 'Jugni' and many others. They also sang Jagjit Singh's Punjabi songs, including 'Long Da Lashkara' and 'Mitti Da Bawa'.
At the carnival, there was a display of beautiful handicrafts and antiques of general interest. At the event, there were various food outlets from Hotels and restaurants of Jalandhar, soft and hard Beverages, Counters of Delhi and Bombay street food, Games stalls, Mechanical and manual rides and Cultural heritage of India linked to the festival of lights Diwali. Besides there was Nukkad Natak performance, music, entertainment, Parrot Readers, Bio-scope etc. The carnival is the collective effort of the students of CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) under the guidance of their Faculty members.
Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, CT Institute of Hotel Management) said that the exhibition has provided a platform to many of our students to undergo a practical knowledge by not only organizing the event but also being at the event handling On-the-Spot experiences. 
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said that Other than academics, students have special talents to further shine at the national and international level. So, our institutions always make sure to devise out such events to motivate such extraordinary students to excel. Diwali Carnival is providing the students plenty of healthy competitive opportunities to showcase their innovativeness in almost all areas. Such platforms inculcate a true competitive spirit among students. He said, “We would surely to organize such events for the betterment of our students as well.”
