Jalandhar 12 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Lohri was celebrated with full festivity and fervor by the staff and students at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar today. In line with the Punjabi tradition, Lohri bonfire was lit along with presentation of Boliyan, Gidha, and Lok Geet by the students. Addressing the present, the College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that it was the need of the hour to preserve our rich cultural heritage and to make young generation aware of it and celebration of cultural festival could significantly contribute to it. He used the occasion to advise the youth to recognize the worth of their cultural values and to stay away from social evils such as drugs. The President of the College management Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the students and staff on this occasion.
