MLU DAV College, Phagwara celebrates 350th Birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Ji

Jalandhar 12 January (Jaswinder Azad)- With a view to celebrating and paying their obeisance to Sri Guru Gobind Singh, a ‘Path’ of Sukhmani Sahib has been organized on the premises of the college. Under the guidance of expert teachers , the students of the college made all necessary arrangements for the said celebration. On this occasion, all faces were shining with devotion and dedication. After the ‘Bhog’ there was ‘Shabad Kirtan’ which highlighted the greatness, tragic grandeur, secular spirit of the Guru – a rare harbinger of light. He did a lot for the weak, helpless and the down-trodden against the tyranny of the strong and the bully. A rare epitome of secularism, the Guru sacrificed his all , even his sons, for religion. The Offg. Principal, Dr. Suman Tandon lauded the students for their diligence and devotion to organising such a grand programme. The college has always been organising such programmes in order to inculcate and engender moral and spiritual values which are dying away from Indian culture. The waste land, the modern world is bereft of all these values. “The cultivation of these moral values is the need of the hour” she said. Among the special dignitaries were Sh. Shiv Ratan Uppal, Sh. Tara Chand Chumber, Sh. Sushil Maini , Sh. Ravinder Bhalla and many others graced the occasion by their presence. All teachers and other members of the staff attended the function with religious earnestness. All enjoyed Guru Ka Langar’ and were exhausted with the praise of the Guru, known for his heroic, religions or secular qualities.
