Jalandhar 12 January (Jaswinder Azad)- To mark the celebrations of Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, the Department of NSS of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandharorganized an Awareness Drive on Digital Payments. The guests on the occasion were Mr. Shalinder Girdhar Deputy Vice President, Cluster Head, Axis Bank and Ms. Mini Malhotra, AVP, Branch Head, Axis Bank Maqsudan Branch, Jalandhar. The Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended floral welcome to the guests. Mr. Shalinder Girdhar told students about the need and mode of digital payments. He said that Banking is possible even without using internet i.e. USSD. He told the students that FDs and RDs can be made and even investments in mutual funds can be made without going to the bank. All this can be done through smartphones by downloading some apps. Ms. Mini Malhotra had an interactive session with the students and told them about the Dos and Doesn’t of Digital Payment. She warned the students about sharing their OTPs pin anyone as banks never ask for it. Madam Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of NSS Dept. of taking up this initiative. She further said that during this period of cash crunch digital payments is the need of the hour. Dr. Neeraj Maini, HOD PG Dept. of Commerce, Ms. Indu Bhatt, HOD PG Dept. of Economics, Ms. Ashima HOD Dept. of Political Science, Ms. Anupam and Dr. Sonik Bhatia were present on the occasion.
