Vice Principal and Head of Commerce department Prof Vijay Gupta retired from DAV College

Jalandhar 31 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Will meet somewhere sometime , while traveling the path of our lives". After a glorious long career of 39 incredible  years , Vice Principal  and Head of Commerce department Prof Vijay Gupta retired.
To honour the retiring Vice Principal Prof Vijay Gupta for his invaluable and incredible contribution to the college a ceremony was organized by Commerce department to honour him with cake cutting  followed  by handing over the chair of head of department to the newly appointed head Prof VK Sareen . Prof Gupta made Prof Sareen occupy his new position .
“ I will continue to be with the educational field because its not possible to live without teaching and writing books for the students of commerce in the country. When i will join some other institution i will not do anything which is in conflict with my ablation. Basically i am a company secretary and a seniormost company secretary this can be achieved by actively working in the jalandhar chapter of ICSI which is located itself in the DAV college campus. By this myself and my soul will continue in DAV College where i will be in position to salute and love my institution as it will come to chapter of ICSI.”-Prof Vijay Gupta.
"Work is the truest path of worship , and the people who follow the path of work reach the skies" quoted Prof Vijay Gupta (Vice Principal, HOD of Commerce  department) at his retirement after 39 years of his perfect professional career, while sharing his feelings and experiences of his work life and tenure.
Prof Vijay Gupta joined Dav  College Jalandhar in  1978 and in 2012 he became the head of department of Commerce and his career is enriched  with various professional degrees like Masters in Commerce LLB, ICSI and M.Fil and he has written numerous books on Operations Research, Company Law, Financial Management and Business.
He  Started the IGNOU study centre in DAV college and assisted in  Raising the college strength by getting more and more units of commerce.. He got a donation of Rs 1 crore for the construction of new commerce block and brought the chapter office of the Institute of Company Secrataries of India in the DAV College Campus. He arranged professional national conferences in the college campus. And remained Prof. Incharge of refreshment Commitee for more than 6 years and also remained building incharge till 31 January 2017. He worked as registrar of the college and the vice principal of the college till 31 january 2017.
Principal Dr SK Arora while sharing his views and feelings addressed Prof Gupta  as "idealistic Hero  ". He quoted " Prof Gupta has been very famous and I had heard a lot about his working and leadership styles and now I have duly acknowledged his contribution .  And his retirement has created a feeling of loneliness and void in my heart". He further said the way Prof Gupta has worked in his life and remained dedicated to his work and teaching is quiet exemplary and his contributions and achievements will forever remain milestones. He quoted how Prof Gupta has dealt with the students and teachers with full respect and calmness .He has served the college for about 4 decades and his working styles, philosophies and achievements are bound to be exemplary for others. Though after his retirement we will remain apart from him and his values, but his values and morals will keep guiding our paths and responsibilities. DAV will forever welcome you with opened arms and hearts.
Vice Principal Prof V K Sareen quoted  that professor Vijay Gupta is like a big brother for him and his relationship with him is quite old ,  and I have always seen  a hard working, dedicated, committed and a strong person in  him who is always ready to accept all sort of challenges which come his way. And I wish him a Golden retirement life ahead.
Sharing his experiences and emotions Prof Gupta said to his colleagues that they aren't only connected professionally but, they are having soulful connection, their hearts are connected , and he quoted that he will try his best to maintain this pious relationship.
He further quoted "our relationships are bound to stay lifelong, and u wish it gets nourished day by day so that these beautiful relations continue". He paid his gratitude for all his achievements in DAV to his devoted friends and colleagues.He told how he worked lifelong without the expectation of the fruit for his work, with exact freedom, and he inspired others to adopt this concept of working. He quoted beautifully "its not the way we adopt for performing our duty that matters, but what's more important is the efforts one puts in to complete his duty". He said the memories of DAV will forever stay alive and fresh with him and he will preserve those memories with his full strength.
"In relationships distance doesn't matter" Prof Gupta got emotional at his retirement and quoted "my retirement is bound to bring distances between me and you all , but these miles apart won't affect the relationship we have established so far".
In the end while sharing his experiences he shared his mantra of success and quoted "the significance of being successful is when on doesn't lose self confidence , dedication and commitment to his work even in opposite conditions" and this is what our vice principal does. He further inspired everyone , never to lose any opportunity of growth and success ,and we should put in our best of energy and efforts to become successful in our duty. He paid his gratitude to all his friends who have inculcated in him the true spirit and energy , which will definitely motivate him in the future go perform constructive tasks. In the end he conveyed his heartiest congratulations to the newly appointed Head of department Prof V K Sareen  and quoted  that he is  very noble hearted person and is highly professional and a competitive person and I'm sure enough that under his stewardship commerce department will achieve more zeniths of success.
