Jalandhar 26 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Following the traditions of PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, 16th Annual Inter College Academic and Cultural festival “SYNERGY 2017” was started with great pomp and splendor, today. In this two day Mega event organized by students and staff of Commerce Department, around 182 students from 14 Colleges /Management Institutes participated in 11 events of first day which are related with Fine Arts, Literary and Sports viz Painting, Poster Making, Collage Making, Cartooning, Rangoli, Clay Modeling, Declamation, Slogan Writing, Three Leg Race, Matka Race and Spoon Race. Students had shown a new picture of India through their creations via fine arts events which covered the various issues of society like Pollution, Domestic Violence, Women Crime,, Demonetization, Swach Bharat Abhiyaan etc. In clay modeling students emphasize on wild life and working figure. In slogan writing competition, over speeding was the issue. The Chief Guest of first day of SYNERGY 2017, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar inaugurated the event with colourful balloons. Judges of the literary events were Prof. Mansi Chopra, Prof. Kritika Khanna and Prof. Gurpriya Wariach. Fine Arts events were Judges by Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Geetanjali Modgil and Prof. Jyoti Sharma. Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Head, P.G. Department of Commerce and Business Administration thanked all the participants and wish them for their future endeavour. In this occasion stage was conducted by students of Commerce Department viz Amanpreet, Ankita and Sawangeet Kaur. On this occasion Prof. Vivek Mahajan, Prof. Navdeep Kumar, Prof. Patwant Atwal, Prof. Ubique, Prof. Raminder Bhatia, Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Prof. Rupinder, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Prof. Komaljit Kaur, Prof. Manish Goel and all other staff members were also present. Result of the today’s events will be declared tomorrow.
