In first of its kind employment fair, appointment letters for 7 trainees
Jalandhar 24 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma has asked the administrators of Multi Skill development centre, Jalandhar to initiate a awareness drive , especially in rural areas to provide required skills in various fields for self employment. ADC (D) Mr. Girish Dyalan was also present on the occasion.
Today after inaugurating the first of its kind employment fair here at Skill Development centre alongwith ADC (D) Mr. Girish Dyalan, which was also attended by top 40 industrialist of the Jalandhar city, Mr. Sharma said that being the city known for its industrial potential, it would not only provide skill training to youth for self employment but also fulfill the demand of skilled work force by industrial units. It may be mentioned here that the centre would also be responsible to provide employment to atleast 75% trainees in reputed companies as the norms fixed by the Government of Punjab.
Chief of the Skill Development centre Mr. K.J.S. Pannu has said that during the fair 7 trainees were selected for various companies namely Jasvir Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Rishab Kumar, Umesh, Anita, Ajay paswan.
He also informed that total 1700 trainees would be able for training in the age group of 18-35 years, who have the family income is less than 2 lac annually. Besides that 400 seats were reserved for the children of workers registered with the construction board, Punjab.
Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Mr. Ashwani Kumar from Victor tools, MM Gupta from Perfect Builts, Surinder Kumar from Raman exports, Col Paul from Paul leathers and S.K. Sharma from Army placement cell.
