Jalandhar 9 June (Jaswinder Azad)- A one week summer crash course in Vedic Mathematics was organised by the P.G. Dept. of Mathematics of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar with the aim to improve mathematical skills , to develop logical thinking of the students and to crack the quantitative part of competitive examinations. 40 female participants from various streams like arts, commerce and sciences of KMV and from outside participated to have an experience of fun filled and logical learning of algebraic operations Multiplications by using Vedic Mathematics Sutras in this week long course. Participants were made clear about the various concepts & principles of maths through many interesting and informative power point presentations and videos. They were also enlightened with the rich culture of India during Vedic period and the Colossal contribution of great Indian Mathematicians for the development of maths in an easy and interesting way. On the last day of this crash course a test was conducted to check the speed of participants for different maths related calculations in which Simaran Kaur and Inderpreet Kaur of 10+2 Non Medical got the prizes. Principal KMV, Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the Dept of Maths on the successful conclusion of this Summer Crash Course.
