CT Group celebrated International Yoga Day

  • Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day
Jalandhar 21 June (Gurkirat Singh)- CT Group celebrated the International Yoga Day at its Shahpur and Maqsudan Campus premises on Wednesday to bring good health, peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul and raise the message to increase its practice in daily routine. Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group) was the Chief Guest for the event at Shahpur Campus. The heads, teaching and non-teaching members of various departments participated in the event. Dr Pravin Kumar (Head, Department of Physical Education) exhorted everyone to adopt yoga and music as a way of life. He said that this was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. Children got the chance to know how yoga embodies unity of mind and body. Different yoga postures like Vrikshasana, Uttaanaasana, Trikonaasana, Bhadrasana, Shashankaasana, Bhujangasana, Pawana Muktaasana were performed by the expert and the students. Finally, the day ended with Pranayama and meditation which was performed by all those who present. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group) inaugurated the yoga day celebrations at CT Maqsudan Campus. He stated that it is universally accepted that regular practice of Yoga has very positive implications for human health. He exhorted everyone to adopt a yogic way of life and work for the protection of a healthy environment and a balanced way of living. He said, “Revered Prime Minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi has initiated the day and 177 countries has been participating and promoting yoga.”
