Jalandhar 24 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Taking a dig on bonhomie between Akali-BJP alliance and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in recently concluded assembly session, the Power and Irrigation Minister Punjab Rana Gurjit Singh today said that 'helpless was leading clueless' to overcome agony of crushing defeat in Vidhan sabha elections.
Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of a function to dedicate 66 KV Power Sub Station here today, the Power Minister said that till recently concluded assembly elections the SAD-BJP alliance and AAP leaders were sworn enemies of each other but now instead of raising issues of public concern they were giving solace to each other for defeat in assembly polls. He reminded the AAP leaders about their venomous speeches against the SAD-BJP alliance leaders during run up of state assembly polls. Likewise, Mr. Rana said that SAD President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal had leveled serious allegations of weakening the cause of anti-Sikh riot victims in Delhi on AAP leader Mr. HS Phoolka, who was given a ride by SAD President in his car.
However, the Power Minister said that now these leaders were shamelessly joining hands for an unprincipled and unholy alliance against Congress party, which has been given unprecedented mandate by wise people of state. He said that this was politics of sheer opportunism and convenience by the opposition for which the people of Punjab would never forgive them. Mr. Rana said that opposition was not interested in discussing the issues of people but were more worried about hogging limelight by creating unruly scenes in assembly.
The Power Minister bemoaned that budget session was very important for the state but the opposition was least concerned about the seriousness of this session and ran away from it. Coming down heavily on the opposition, the Minister said that the opposition MLAs violated all the democratic norms by attacking the employees of Vidhan Sabha and trying to disgrace the chair of Speaker. Lashing out at Akali leaders for trying to mislead the people on issue of turban, he reminded the SAD president Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal that desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and the incidents like Bargadi had tormented the psyche of every Punjabi in general and Sikh community in particular.
Later on addressing the gathering after dedicating the Power substation to humanity, the Cabinet Minister said that state government was committed for supplying uninterrupted power supply to the farmers for 8 hours during the paddy season. Likewise, he said that the domestic customers would also be given regular power supply at affordable prices. Mr. Rana said that freezing of electricity tariff for new and existing industries at Rs. 5 per unit would give the much needed impetus to the industry of the state.
The Power Minister said that state government has came for rescue the state’s beleaguered farmers from their debt burdens by waiving off their loans and putting an end to `kurki’ of their land. He said that Captain Government has presented a visionary and pro-people budget aimed at giving boost to the economy of the state. Mr. Rana said that this budget would give impetus to the progress of state and further put it on high growth trajectory. “In its maiden budget our Government has taken care of every strata of society” he added.

He also flagged the issues of his assembly segment concerning Power and Irrigation department with the Minister and urged him to ensure their early redressal. Mr. Pargat Singh expressed hope that Punjab would scale new heights under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
