A three-day Civil Defense Course was concluded under the guidance of Dr. S.K. Tuli & Prof. S.K. Middha at the courtyard of DAV College's 100th anniversary

Jalandhar 20 July (Gurkirat Singh)- The guest of the first day of the course was the Principal of the college Dr. S.K.  Arora & Jaskaran Singh Commandant of Jalandhar district. A total of 105 volunteers from the college's NSS and NCC participated in the course. The main event of this course was conducted by the Civil Defense Department of Jalandhar district under the "Pilot Project Revamping of Civil Defense Terms" which ran from July 17 to July 19. Principal Dr. S.K. Arora, while giving his best wishes to the volunteers in this three-day course, said that in three days student must learn the art of defense in depth. Students should be aware of this & spread awareness among other people. On the first day of the course, information about civil defense, various types of disasters, disaster management, and other means of defense was given. On the second day of course, fire prevention, how to prevent air strikes, how to give first aid, how to rescue the people in the flood and how to protect the household items, these points were explained. On the last day of the course i.e. on the third day, practical training was given regarding the topics mentioned above, such as how to to use the rope in the disaster, how to climb up to a tall building, and how to protect someone from the fire. The main guest on the last day of the course was ACP Security Jalandhar Gurpreet Singh. Addressing volunteers participating in the course, he said that students must take part in such a course and should include it in their everyday lifestyle. Other people of the society should also be told about the training of defense and also make them aware of this. Ram Singh Bhatti (Division Warden) Paraminder Singh (Civil Defense Jalandhar), Manjit Singh Manna (deputy warden) especially all the managers were involved in the program. Those who participated in the course were given certificates of volunteers and 900 cash equivalents. Kashish, Mirror, Bhakti Bhava, Gaurav Dogra, Javed, Rahul, Chetan, Sahaspreet etc. volunteers also shared their experience about this course. In the end Dr. S.K Tuli thanked the team of the Defense and Volunteers, he said that we will continue to do such courses in college from time to time, from which the volunteers get to learn something new. Forum Operations Prof. S K Middha presented the report of the three days course of how all the volunteers had the concentration to go about the subject related to this course and get practical knowledge. Now the volunteers will also play their duties like the people of defence.
