NCC Cadets of HMV brought laurels in 10-day NCC CATC Camp

Jalandhar 8 July (Gurkirat Singh)- NCC Cadets of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya of 2nd Punjab Girls Battalion brought laurels to the college by winning prizes in a 10-day CATC camp for their outstanding performance. The camp concluded in the premises of HMV in which about 499 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges of Doaba region participated. 8 NCC cadets of HMV, Mandeep Kaur, Jasmeet Kaur, Sakshi, Manpreet Kaur, Jaspreet, Rishika, Radha, Jayati won Group Dance competition by getting first position. 10 cadets of HMV, Manpreet Kaur, Sakshi, Jaspreet, Mandeep, Bharti, Anshuman, Rishika, Vaishali, Neha and Jasmeet won first prize in Drill competition. Cadets Mandeep, Jaspreet, Jasmeet, Sakshi, Manpreet, Rishika, Ishpreet and Jayati won first prize in Group Song competition. Cadet Mandeep Kaur of Army wing won first prize in Group Dance Competition. She is into NCC from the last three years.  She has the rank of Sr. Under Officer. She has completed her Graduation from HMV and want to pursue post graduation from this very college but will continue with NCC as she wants to join BSF. She says that she is focussed to join the armed forces. She says that with the support of her family, NCC mentors and teachers, she is able to won so many prizes. Cadet Jasmeet Kaur is studying in B.Com. I. She joined NCC when she was in SSC I. She said that college teachers inspired her to join NCC and she did so. She won several prizes last year too and in this camp, she has won second prize in Solo Dance competition and other prizes in group. She aspires to join Defence Services in future. She said that best of the facilities are being provided by the college for NCC cadets. Cadet Manpreet Kaur won second prize in Firing Competition. She hails from rural background but with the inspiration and support of teachers, she is doing excellent in NCC. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated NCC Incharge Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Mrs. Saloni Sharma and Ms. Sonia Mohindru.  She said that the NCC cadets always bring laurels to the college and it is a matter of great pride and honour for HMV fraternity that HMV also won Best Institute Award in this camp. Commanding Officer Col. Atul Shah gave prizes to the winners.
