Jalandhar 20 July (Gurkirat Singh)- In order to keep the environment green, fresh and healthy, a Tree Plantation Program was held at Lyallpur Khalsa College. Under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, the program was carried out by the Eco Club of the college wherein around 50 saplings of the hybrid Indian Lilac variety were planted in the college. Prof. SS Bains, Convenor Eco Club informed that the hybrid lilac saplings would be of great use for the natural air purification process apart from the various other medical uses as well. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. GS Samra apperciated the efforts of the Eco Club and added that awareness programmes such as that could help mankind deal with the situation effectively. Dr. Harjit Singh, Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Prof. Bikramjit Singh Kahlon and Prof. Gitanjali Mahajan were also present on the occasion.
