K.M.V. Organises an extension lecture on Post-colonial Partition and Diasporic Literature

Jalandhar 30 August (Jaswinder Azad)- PG dept of English under the premises of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar organized an extention lecture on Post-colonial Partition and Diasporic Literature by Prof. Prabhjot Parmar, University of Fraser Vally, Canada who is a renowned expert on these literary aspects. In her discourse Dr. Parmar presented an overview of Post-colonical Literature while talking in detail about the debates, directions and trajectories of such literature she also explicated on the challenges that Post-colonical Studies pose for both stuents and teachers, and how various authors across the globe respond to the issues couched in colonical and post colonical context. While exploring the issues of borders and boundaries, home and belonging, she also drew attention to some of the issues related to indigenous  people in Canada, India, Australia and NewZealand along with responses of Asian Diaspora to partition. The students found the presentation highly engaging and interacted  at length with Dr. Parmar on various issues of Post- colonialism. Prof.  Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal K.M.V lauded the efforts of the P.G dept of English in providing the students much relevant international exposure which will greatly help them in developing a global mind set. On this occasion were present Mrs. Seema Jain, Head, PG Dept. of English along with other faculty members Mrs. Satinder Kaur, Mrs. Shalini Gulati, Dr. Deepika Anand, Dr. Reena Sharma, Mrs. Rituparna Datta Roy and Dr.Ranjit Singh.
