Jalandhar 28 August (Jaswinder Azad)- In response to the momentous issues of contemporary relevance, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – the heritage institution,Jalandhar organized an event called ‘Naya bharat – Sankalp Se Siddhi.’ The chief guest Hon’ble Mrs.Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union cabinet Minister of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India was accorded floral felicitations by the worthy members of KMV Managing Committee. The Presiding dignitary, Sh.Chander Mohan Ji, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal & KMV Managing Committee, while welcoming Mrs. Maneka Sanjay Gandi, apprised her of KMV’s glorious historic past and reaffirmed that the Odyssey started by the visionary founders of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya in 1886 will continue with an aim towards social transformation and building New India till the goal is achieved.Welcoming the chief guest, the college principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi enologized Mrs.Maneka Gandhi’s efforts in scaling new heights of success and becoming an icon of ideal empowered womanhood with a dint of her hardwork, resilience and visionary zeal. Adressing the students and responding to their quesries, Mrs.Maneka Gandhi enumerated various women oriented programmes that have been implemented by the present government in a very practical and successful manner as tools to achieve women empowerment. One Stop Centres, E-Box, Jan Dhan Yojna, Mudra Yojna, Swacch Bharat, Beti Bachao – Beti Padao and many more including 33% women recruitment in Police that will be a sure step to sensitize this arm of govt. machinery towards women-related issues. She pointed out many lapses in implementation of some policies but they will be surely removed to ensure women empowerment and child development to achieve vision 2022. The Hon’ble Minister, on this occasion, inaugurated Retail Management Lab. For one of the six programmes being run under the aegis of DDU Kaushal Kendra, a Skill Development Centre granted by Govt. of India to this Heritage Institution. The organizers of this event expressed their heart-felt gratitude to Mr.K.D.Bhandar, Ex.MLA, Sh.Manoranjan Kalia, Ex. MLA, Sh.Rakesh Sharma, Party President, BJA, jalandhar, Dr.Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee and all other dignitaries present on the occasion.
