Jalandhar 8 September (Jaswinder Azad)- The Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated the World Physiotherapy Day which marks the occasion of spreading awareness regarding Physiotherapy on a global level. Students of the Department of Physiotherapy presented posters and one act plays depicting the importance of the science called Physiotherapy. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra graced the occasion as the chief guest and praised the contribution made by Physiotherapy in the healthcare system of the country. He also urged the students to push themselves in the practical aspect apart from the theoretical knowledge of the science. Dr. Raju Sharma Head, Department of Physiotherapy explained the increasing importance of Physiotherapy in the modern world which has coincided with the changing lifestyle of the masses. The students of the BPT Classes bagged major honours in the poster presentation competitions while the play enacted the Physiotherapy OPD Laboratory of the college which provides healthcare services at a nominal cost of Rs. 30/- in this era of inflation. Parminder Kaur BPT-III and Raghav Sareen BPT IV were adjudged as Best actors. Judgement was given by College Registrar and HOD English Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dr. Balwinder Singh Chahal, HOD Physics and Prof. Harpreet Kaur. The program was also beheld by Prof. Manohar Singh, HOD Computer Science and IT, Prof. Navdeep Kaur, HOD Economics, Prof. Priyank Sharda, Prof. Richa Sharma, Prof. Komaldeep Kaur, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh and Prof. Damanpreet Kaur. Vote of thanks was delivered by senior member of the Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Jaswant Kaur Sandhu.
