Jalandhar 29 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Eyes are the only part of body that welcomes the world to us. In a way, eyes are the most beautiful gift presented by almighty to the creatures put on earth. But somehow, we humans lack taking care of this delicate organ. Considering the importance of eyes, NSS department of DAV college took a step forward and organised Eye Screening Camp with the help of Dass Eyes Hospital. A staff of 4 doctors arrived at college for this social cause. Dr SK Arora (Principal, DAV college, Jalandhar) and Prof SK middha (Head of NSS department) welcomed the staff of Dass Eye Hospital and introduced the doctors to the students. Prof SK Middha telling the momentousness of eyes said that eyes are the one of most sensitive organs that needs care. We should take special care of our eyes. Addressing girls he added that cosmetics like kajal and mascara are very dangerous for our eyes. Students' eyes were checked very minutely by the staff of hospital. Around 220 students gathered in the college hospital for this camp. 50 students were advised to change their specs. 35 students were advised to wear specs. Students were also told how the sun rays and dust particles harm our eyes and how can we prevent the harm done by them. In the end of the camp Principal of DAV College, Jalandhar Dr. S.K. Arora appreciated NSS Department for organising this camp. He also appreciated Dass Eye Hospital for putting efforts to let people know the importance of eyes. He said that not everyone is blessed with eyes so we should pledge to donate our eyes after death. Prof Meenu Talwar, Prof Rajan Sharma, Prof Bhuvan, Prof Naresh Sharma were also present in this camp.
