Jalandhar 26 September (Jaswinder Azad)- On a special drive launched upon the directions issued by Sh. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) against the anti social elements under the supervision of Sh. Balkar Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation, Sh. Surinder Mohan, PPS, DSP/Investigation, the Jalandhar (Rural) Police achieved a major success when Inspr. Shiv Kumar, I/c. CIA-2 Staff of this district alongwith police party while conducting patrolling in the area of jurisdiction of PS Mehatpur arrested 02 professional snatchers namely Vishal Bawa @ Vicky @ Chucha (Aged about 26 years) s/o Prem Kumar r/o Khurampur, PS Mehatpur and Gurpreet Singh @ Gopi (Aged about 25years) s/o Gurmej Singh r/o Kasba Mohalla, PS Mehatpur who were specialized in snatching earrings from the pedestrian women at the edge of sharp edged weapons and smuggling of narcotics. In this regard case FIR No. 166 dated 24-09-2017 u/s 379-B, 382 IPC was registered in PS Mehatpur, district Jalandhar (Rural). 24 gold earrings, 20 GM Heroin and one motorcycle Bajaj Pulsor has been recovered from them.
Likewise the team of Inspr. Harinder Singh, In-charge CIA-1 Staff, of this district received a major success, when they arrested 05 members of a gang, who in the disguise of D.J. players used to loot the people during the night. The arrested persons were identified as Sarabjit @ Bablu (Aged about 27 years) s/o Dharampal r/o Khurdpur, PS Adampur, Surjit @ Goldy (Aged about 24 years) s/o Dharampal r/o Khurdpur, PS Adampur, Gufran @ Gufa (Aged about 28 years) s/o Mohd. Musdeen r/o Mangi Colony, Street No. 1, House No. 4, Near Aujla Phatik, Kapurthala, Vishal Sahota (Aged about 08 years) s/o Honey Sahota r/o Thakur Nagar, Street No. 4, district Kapurthala and Sukhwinder Singh @ Sunny (Aged about 27 years) s/o Bawa Singh r/o Maqsudpur, PS Begowal, district Kapurthala, who were arrested from the area of village Mansurpur Badala and rfecovered stolen articles i.e. 02 LCDs, 01 Microwave, and 03 motorcycles Discover Bajaj from them. In this regard case FIR No. 238 dated 21-09-2017 u/s 379-B/379/457/482/380/411/34 IPC was registered in PS Adampur, district Jalandhar (Rural).
In an another case, on 24-09-2017 ASI Nirmal Singh of the team of Inspr. Harinder Singh, In-charge CIA-1 Staff while conducting patrolling in the area of village Hasanmunda arrested Ramandeep Singh @ Raman s/o Jaswinder Singh r/o village Sursingh Patti Nangalki, PS Bhikhiwind, district Tarn Taran and recovered 100 Gm Heroin from him. In this regard case FIR No. 182 dated 24-09-2017 u/s 21NDPS Act was registered against him in PS Kartarpur, district Jalandhar (Rural).

2. Case FIR No. 103 dated 30-08-2016 u/s 379-B IPC, PS Bhogpur, Jalandhar (Rural) – In this case snatched 02 gold earrings from a woman near Kishangarh Primary School.
3. Case FIR No. 90 dated 16-05-2017 u/s 379-B IPC, PS Maqsudan, Jalandhar (Rural) – In this case snatched 01 gold chain and 03 gold rings from a woman near village Madaran, PS Maqsudan, which have been recovered.
It is worth mentioning here that accused Vishal and his associate Sunny r/o Mehatpur used to loot the gold ornaments from ladies even in the crowded places at the edge of sharp edged weapons. Both these accused had recently looted gold ornaments from a lady in the area of village Madaran, PS Maqsudan. Rest of the members of the gang use to commit robberies in shops and houses.
