Jalandhar 24 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town and Loharan celebrated UNO Day. A wide range of activities was organised to celebrate this day. A mock UN session was organised for the students of class VIII. The students represented as delegates of different countries and a Meeting of Security Council was enacted where discussion on Nuclear Supplier Group was carried out. The topic of discussion was “Harmful Nuclear Material for Weapons.” The students were well prepared for the session. Besides this, class VII children participated in debate. The students of Cantt. - Jandiala Road did Book Review activity and importance of UNO was explained to them. The meaning of Veto Power was also explained to the students. The objective of UNO is to solve the issues peacefully. All the members of UNO follow the rules and responsibilities with dedication. The Director Principal School- Mr. Dheeraj Banati also highlighted the purpose of the foundation of U.N.O and importance of United Nations Day which is observed for informing people about the aims and achievements of the United Nations Organization. All the children had a lot of fun and learnt a lot about different UN countries.
