K.M.V. Organises National Seminar on Role of Autonomous Institutions in the Upliftment of Language & Culture

Jalandhar 25 October (Gurkirat Singh)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, the heritage institution- a one day seminar on Role of Autonomous Instituions in the ‘Upliftment of Language & Culture’ was organized by P.G.Dept. of Hindi. The chairperson for the day was none other than Sh.Chander Mohan Ji, President Arya Shiksha Mandal. The chief-guest for the day was Dr.Suresh Seth a par-excellence creative writer while the key-note address was delivered by former Head, Dept. of Hindi G.N.D.U, Dr.Om Awasthi.  The days proceedings began by formal floral feliciations by Principal Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi and the symbolic lighting up of the lamp of knowledge. Then much celebrated journalist and creative-writer Dr.Harminder Singh Bedi also ex-Head Dept. of Hindi G.N.D.U. Amritsar delivered the inaugural address in which he assented and appreciated the importance of carrying forward our rich cultural traditions and wisdom through our traditional education system. He lauded the role of autonomous institutions like K.M.V.Jalandhar which staunchly believed in carrying forward the vision of their founder Late Lala Dev Raj Ji. Dr.Om Awasthi in his key-note address also appreciated the 132 years of glorious rich cultural heritage of K.M.V. and its commitment to introduce the age-old wisdom of Indian continent through traditional education. Chief guest Sh.Suresh Seth also was of the same opinion, he also appreciated the role K.M.V. could play as an autonomous institution in the upliftment of society through women education. The chairperson for the day President Arya Shiksha Mandal, Sh.Chander Mohan Ji said that K.M.V. had long been propogating the seemingly new slogan of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. He interpreted autonomy as liberation of knowledge and thoughts and said that only with this upliftment of language & culture was possible. On this occasion the research journal of P.G.Dept. of Hindi ‘Unmilan’ was released. Student who had participated in various literary competitions like story-writing essay writing, poetical recitation, paper-reading and report-writing were also felicitated and rewarded with trophies Principal Prof. Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi thanked the honoured guests for having spared their invaluable time. She said that their thoughts and input for the day would go a long distance for the upliftment of Indian Languages & Culture.
