Jalandhar 6 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Eminent veteran Professor Dr. D.P. Kothari, former director, IIT Delhi delivered an expert lecture in NAAC 'A' accredited DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar. His presence was extended with a warm welcome by Professor Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET. The expert talk began with the words of encouragement and inspiration by the Principal of the Institute. At this time, Dr. Sudhir Sharma, HOD (Electrical Engineering) and Dr. Neeru Malhotra, HOD (Electronics Engineering) were also present. On this auspicious occasion Dr. Y.S. Brar, Professor, IKGPTU also visited DAVIET, Jalandhar. Students and faculty of DAVIET got a chance to witness the profound knowledge and expertise of Dr. D. P. Kothari in Power systems by listening the intricacies of "Energy problems facing the world and their probable solutions for sustainable development and poverty alleviation". Students were able to learn that how Electrical Engineering can help the societal issues such as farmer suicides, decreased per capita energy and renewable energy utilization. He insisted the students to work on the power quality issues and to find solutions to enhance the power quality. Dr. Kothari encouraged the students to join the prestigious engineering services and he vitalizes the pre final year students to appear in GATE examination for their greener pastures. He inspired the budding engineers that MBA in power systems get a hold of maximum number of job opportunities in the ministry under GOI. Apart from the concepts of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Kothari interacted with the students and discussed various concerns of National and International importance. Dr. D. P.
