Jalandhar 16 March (Jaswinder Azad)- NSS unit, Red Ribbon Club and youth services department of DAV college, Jalandhar jointly organized poster making and declamation competitions on the topics :Blood Donation, AIDS and Drug awareness. Under the abled guidance of Principal Dr. S.K. Arora. The chief guest on this occasion was captain I.S. Dhami, Assistant Director,Youth Services Department, Jalandhar. He Was warmly welcomed by floral boquet by Vice Principal Prof. V.K. Sareen along with Prof. S.K.Midda, co-ordinator, NSS Unit, other staff members and students.
Prof. V.K Sareen appreciated the efforts of students and encouraged them to aware others about burning issues of society.He added if one really wants to flourish as a human being one must be addicted to fullfill his values, hardwork not drugs.
Captain I.S. Dhami acknowledged the efforts put in by NSS unit, Red Ribbon Club and youth services Club of college. He congratulated participents and enlightened students on these topics.
Prof. S.K.Midda told due to these competitions students gain the knowledge related to such topics as well as inculacate confidence among them.
In Declamation competition Megha won the first prize second prize won by Muskan and third prize was won by Umika. Simranjeet and Bhavika won consolation prizes. Where as In poster making competition Sonali won the first prize, Jasmeen second prize and third prize won by Kumari Neha. Consolation prizes were won by Yogesh and Dhiraj.
Prof. Dr Komal Arora annonced all the prizes. Dr. Seema Sharma proposed formal vote of thanks to worthy guest.Meenu Talwar handled the stage. Programme officer prof. Komal Arora, programme officer prof. Meenu Talwar, Youth Co-ordinator prof. Seema Sharma played the role of judges. Other than this Prof. Rajan Sharma,Prof.Sameer Sharma, Prof. Rajesh prashar, Prof. Jeevan Asha was present in this speacial event.
