Jalandhar 24 March (Gurkirat Singh)- English has virtually become a “Window to the World” . Its importance at the global level cannot be questioned. It’s the common language that enhances communication with the people across the globe. CEO (DIPS Chain of Institutions) Mrs. Monica Mandotra stressed on these points during the workshop organized under her guidance for the English faculty. This workshop was held at DIPS School Urban Estate Phase-1 to make teacher aware about latest changes in CBSE curriculum and to keep them abreast with latest methodologies in teaching language and literature. Around 80 teachers teaching English language and literature to the Primary and senior secondary classes at DIPS attended the workshop. Prof. GulzarSingh Chanchal and Mrs.Davinder Kaur Sagoo were the resource persons for the workshop. In the beginning Mrs.Sagoo explained the importance of correct usage of words correct spellings, appropriate vocabulary and correct Punctuation. She discussed the part of speech and elaborated that often the same word could function as different part of speech. Correct usage of punctuation, she said ,makes the written composition vivid and bring out the perfect meaning without any scope for ambiguity. Prof. Chanchal discussed the grammatical term and their correct application in written as well as spoken English. He discussed everything in a threadbare manner. The interactive and pragmatic approach adopted by him made even the most intricate things easily understood by the participants. His presentation discussed every item to its minutest details. CEO Mrs. Mandotra said to the teachers to read more, to learn more and to transfer more knowledge to their students. She praised the resource person for conducting the workshop in a professional manner. Mementos and certificates were given to the outstanding participants for contributing best English assignments.
