Jalandhar 14 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Lyallpur Khalsa College undertook another initiative by organizing 'Best Literary Student Award' program in the college. This program saw an active participation of over 200 students wherein they presented their literary creations on the stage whilst also discussing their creative processes . Harmandeep Singh, a student of BA Semester VI was adjudged as the 'Best Literary Student' for the session 2017-18. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra vowed to continue to such efforts by the college to enhance the writing skills of students. Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, PG Department of Punjabi also stressed the need to develop literary taste among the youth. Dr. Surinder Mand, Coordinator of the program delivered the vote of thanks to conclude the proceedings. Judgement duties were performed by Prof. Satnam Wahid, Prof. Bhawana Arora, Prof. Manjinder Singh Johal and Prof. Gulzar Singh. Victorious students was also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000, Certificate and a memento. The occasion was also witnessed by Dr. Balwinder Singh Chahal, HOD, Physics.
