Jalandhar 4 March (Gurkirat Singh)- Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, R.Venkataraman Chemical Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized an industrial visit to Sun Pharmaceuticals, SBS Nagar (Ropar). 51 students of B.Sc.I, II and III (Medical & Non-Medial) participated in tour. The students were escorted by Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Sharma, Mrs. Deepshikha, Miss Harpreet & Miss Vandana. Sun Pharmaceuticals is one of the leading company of India accounting for manufacture of medicines. Mrs. Anju Singh, Head HR highlighted mainly growth status accomplishments of Company. Safety Head Mr. Hans Raj briefed students to comply certain norms before taking the round of plant. Students had opportunity to visit different departments & sections of the industry like quality control, quality assurance, dispensing manufacturing, packaging warehouse sections, etc. Students looked the process of separation & purification of drugs using high performance liquid chromatography from quite a distance as it was a completely sterilized area. Students observed the scientists working on high tech equipments & this made the students to correlate their theory with practical application in pharmaceutical manufacturing field. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that the purpose of organizing this visit was to make the students aware about industrial work & manufacturing process on large scale. The students were very happy & felt enriched after visiting Pharmaceuticals manufacturing plant.
