DAV College's M. Com First Semester students excelled in university exams

7 out of 14 top university positions are bagged by college students
Jalandhar 11 April (Jaswinder Azad)- M. Com. First semester students of DAV College, Jalandhar have established a new dimension by achieving 7 out of 14 top positions in GNDU University. It is an unprecedented record in itself that the same college has achieved 7 out of 14 positions in its name. College as well as Commerce Department is feeling very happy for this great achievement.
Kanika Chadda scored 459 marks out of 550 and stood second in the university, Surbhi Taneja and Sharandeep Kaur secured 444 points and got seventh position, Deepshi and Geetika scored 440 points and stood 10th, Gaurav Ratna got 436 marks and secured 12th position, Tarunpreet secured thirteenth position with 435 marks.
Principal of DAV College, Prof. Dr. S.K. Arora, giving best wishes, said, "I am proud of all of you. The Commerce Department is the best, visionary, creative and intellectual department and I congratulate all the students, teachers and their families on this wonderful achievement. Our college has always been providing a studious environment to the students. Dedicated and diligent students have always been getting all the help from college and they will continue to get ahead." Principal Arora further added, "today's day is a golden day for DAV College's Academics." Principal Dr. SK Arora, Vice Principal TD Saini congratulated HOD of Commerce department Prof VK Sareen who is also Vice Principal of the college on this great achievement.
Students were also happy to see this amazing achievement. Gaurav Ratna said that he is very happy about this achievement and wants to serve the country by going to Civil Services. Kanika Chadha, Tarunpreet and Sharandeep said that they to become lecturers in the future and want to promote women's empowerment in the field of education. Deepshi said that there is no limit of learning, she wants to see herself as a teacher, Surabhi said she will go for entrepreneurship and Geetika sees her future in the banking sector.
College Vice Principal and HOD of Commerce Department, Prof. V.K. Sareen congratulated students and teachers for such results. He said that it is a matter of pride for us. It was our priority to create interest of commerce subjects in students, for which we did not compromise on the education of children. Even we have classes on sunday. Additional classes were put up for students. Thereby, they increased the clarity of the subject concepts and that is why we see such a result.
