Jalandhar 15 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage and Autonomous Institution Jalandhar’s Department of Sanskrit and Department of Student Welfare organized a tree plantation drive with the aim to secure pollution free eco-friendly environment. KMV always sensitizes the students on environment issues. Here tree are not only planted but also nurtured and taken care of. Madam Principal Prof. Atima Sharma averred that keeping the environment clean and green should be the responsibility of each individual. Tree Plantation drives are a regular feature here at KMV. She further maintained that some small gestures like throwing the wrappers in the dustbin and reducing the use of polybags can be a substantial step in this direction. The tress were planted at the commencement of new session and the faculty members participated in it with full vigour and energy. The students also planted trees and took a pledge to keep their surroundings be it in college, home, public places etc. all clean. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the endeavors of organizers Dr. Madhumeet and Dr. Neeraj Sharma also present on the occasion were various faculty members including Mrs. Sadhna Tondon, Mrs. Parminder, Dr. Jatinder, Dr. Reena Sharma, Dr. Gurjot, Ms. Hardeep, Mrs. Veena Deepak and Mr. Harleen.
