Jalandhar 21 November (Jaswinder Azad)- I.K.G Punjab Technical University and the Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) jointly organized TAP-2016 Business plan competition in which 238 teams from various AICTE approved colleges of Punjab participated. The main motive of this joint initiative of TAP Business Plan competition is to provide an opportunity to the students of engineering colleges to present their business ideas and plan in front of a panel of entrepreneurs from TIE and academicians from IKG PTU. TAP will provide an opportunity to the short listed teams to get monitoring and support from successful entrepreneurs of the region.
This competition had various phases in the process of business plan competition. In the first phase, the entrepreneurs and academicians from I.K.G PTU and TAP organized an awareness camp by giving presentation to the students of various engineering colleges. In the second phase 238 teams were shown their interest for the business plan by uploading their b-plan on the website of TAP. 238 entries were received out of which 25 were shortlisted for the competition from which 2 teams were of St.Soldier engineering college. In the next phase entrepreneurs and academicians provided the guidance to the teams by Boot camp at PTU Nalanda campus, Mohali. In the final phase of this competition 6 teams were short listed. These teams gave their final presentation on their B-Plan at PHD Chamber Chandigarh. St Soldier’s team comprising Lokesh and Deepak begged the second prize of RS-30,000 for their B-Plan named “Smart Electro Monitoring System”. Students have given all the credit to win the competition to Mr. Vikrant Sharma (Vice-Principal) for his motivation and guidance.
Prof. Manhar Arora (Managing Director) said that this step is a great initiative to promote entrepreneurship in the region since the country needs more and more job provider that the job seekers .
