Eklavya School celebrated “World Wetlands Day”

Jalandhar 2 February (Jaswinder Azad)- Eklavya  School celebrated “World Wetlands Day” in our school. World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2nd February to raise global awareness about the value of wetlands for humanity and the planet. The importance of the value of wetlands was highlighted in the assembly. The students were told that it also marks the date of adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in 1971, in the Iranian city of  Ramsar. World Wetlands Day was celebrated for the first time in 1997. World Wetlands Day 2017 Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction is the theme for World Wetlands Day in 2017. Class 2 students made beautiful chart of the logo of the “World Wetlands Day”. A video on wetlands was shown to the students. Chairman Mr. J.K. Gupta appreciated the students efforts to celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. Director Mrs. Seema Handa, Manager Mrs. Sapna Bakshi and Principal Mrs. Dimpal Sharma appreciated the initative taken to raise global awareness about the value of wetlands for humanity and the planet.
