Jalandhar 7 February (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar where social outreach activities are a routine affair the latest was a Blood Donation Camp on campus. This camp was organized by the joint efforts of the Red Ribbon Club, the NSS Unit of KMV and the Lions Club Jalandhar Shubhkarman. The prominent names from Lions Club who made the event precipitate were Dr. Jasbir Singh, President, Lions Club, Jalandhar Shubhkarma & Mr. Maan Singh Kundwani alongwith Principal Rattan Singh who alongwith their team made a laudable effort to make the camp a success. The medical team consisted of Dr. Gagandeep Singh BTO, Civil Hospital, Jalandhar and Ms. Sudeep Dhillon, Counsellor, CH, Jalandhar. The students volunteered to donate blood in a large number. It was heartening to see the new generation respond so positively to this benign social activity. Around 100 units of blood were collected by the mid-day. The donors were immediately served hot milk, fruits and biscuits. It was ensured that the blood donation did not affect the donor adversely and also that the blood collected was healthy & fit for transfusion. On this occasion those students were also awarded with the prize who donated their blood maximum times. In this competition Rupali, Shobhna and Ritika got first, second and third prize and the consolation prizes were given to Harpreet and Anchal. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of the donors and the organizers Dr. Madhumeet, Mrs. Sadhana Tandon, Mrs. Aashima Sahni and Mrs. Anupam Malhotra and said that it gave her great happiness & satisfaction that the activity of the day was going to save many precious human lives.
