Jalandhar 23 October (Jaswinder Azad)- The Department of Zoology of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya,- An Autonomous & Heritage Institution organised the Gastro-Fest - A Fireless Cooking Competition under DBT Star College Scheme in the college premises with an objective to increase innovative and healthy cooking skills among the students. The main emphasis of this event was to create awareness about healthy eating habits, so they can live a healthy and prosperous life. In this event, total eighty students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Most of the participants have prepared healthy recipes of good nutritional values which were equally good in taste. These food items were judged on the basis of nutrition values and tastes by a jury comprises of Mrs. Niti Kapoor, Head, Department of Home Sciences, Dr. Madhumeet, Dean,student welfare and Mrs. Veena Deepak, Head Department of Mathematics. On this occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the students and faculty members of zoology department for organising a unique, innovative cooking festival. She congratulated all the faculty members for their untiring efforts for the overall developments of students.
