Jalandhar 15 April (Gurkirat Singh)- The 127th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was duly celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Chief Guest for the occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra was welcomed to the program by Prof. Prabh Dyal, Senior Professor, Department of Political Science. In his address, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra discussed the various contributions made by Dr. Ambedkar in the creation of the first version of Indian Constitution and for raising his voice for women and the labour class. He was also remembered as the first Union minister for Law in the Independent India and the head of the Constitutional Committee while also rendering his services as an economist, political analyst and a social reformer. Prof. Prabh Dyal also presented his views on Dr. Ambedkar and concluded the program by thanking Principal Dr. GS Samra for his presence. Students also participated actively in the program which was also attended by Dr. Harjit Singh and Dr. Ajit Pal Singh from the Department of Political Science.
