Jalandhar 22 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Anshul jain won the title of Mr. Farewell and crown of Miss Farewell went to Roshni. Prof Isha Sehgal Vani got declared as new president of commerce forum for the year 2018-19. "The cake was cut by the principal, students and professors of department for the centenary year celebration of college."
In DAV College, Jalandhar, students of the Commerce Department M.Com-1 felicitated their Seniors as "Bon Voyage". This day was dedicated to those memorable days which students spent with their friends, juniors and professors.
The chief guest in the event was Principal Dr. SK Arora, who was welcomed by the faculty of the Department and Vice Principal and Head of Department Pro VK Sarin and President of Commerce Forum Prof Ekjot Kaur.
After lighting of lamp and recitation of gayatri Mantra, Head of Department Prof VK Sareen gave good wishes to the students of the final year and motivated them to do better in the coming examination.
Principal Dr. Arora said, "Commerce field has a lot of possibilities for future providing you have commitment, hard work,desire to get something. Dr. Arora has motivated students to reach the heights by achieving success.
Prof. Ekjot Kaur, the President of Commerce Forum read the annual report of the year, the forum organized different fifteen academic, cultural and sports events. It is a matter of pride for the department has won maximum awards in inter college competitions.
Entertainment started with Bollywood fusion dance which introduced dances of different states of the country presented by Malika, Tarunpreet, Isha, Simran, Shubham and Gaurav. The stage was compared by Navdish Gambhir, Priya, Shubham and Gaurav. The dance performance of juniors was very amusing. After that, students of M-COM1 presented a spectacular "Bihu" dance, which featured a wonderful glimpse of Assam's culture and music from the North East India. Sukanandan displayed Punjabi culture through traditional Punjabi folk dance. Adish Bansal recounted the memories related to college and presented a power point presentation .Remembering the days spent in college he said that it is not time to bid goodbye, its time to give promise to teachers, college and yourself that we will proceed very hard and will make the name of the college and the nation high and bright. The Power Point presentation made everyone emotional.
Modelling contest was the hottest center of the event, which gave the most of its introduction after the ramp walk in the second round when shortlisted candidates won the hearts of everyone by responding to the questions asked. In the modeling contest, Prof. Manish Arora, Prof. Naveen Sood, Prof. Manish Khanna and Prof. Parul Shayer played the role of the judge.
The most spectacular performance was a short drama presented by children of M.Com 1, entitled "Vismic", in which they presented childhood to school life and then to college life and farewell that comprised of poetry, drama and dance. This performance was presented by Navdish Gambhir, Isha, Deepshi, Mallika, Surabhi Taneja, Surabhi Agarwal, Pankaj, Shruti, Priya, Gurpreet, Komalpreet Kaur, Gagandeep and Komal. This short drama made everyone emotional. After this, the amazing bhangra performance of Soul Shakers was performed. Gavie and group sang "Roop Tera Mastana, Mere sapno ki rani and Channa Mereya.
Gourav and group presented a comedy performance in which they exhibited lazy generation of contemporary world. In the end, bhagda team of college entertained the audience with its performance. Vote of thanks was pesented by Prof. Isha Sehgal, the new president of Commerce Forum. On this occasion, Vice Principal Prof. T. D. Saini, Bursar Prof Ajay Kumar Agarwal, Staff Secretary Prof. Vipan Zaanji, Prof. Rajiv Sharma, Prof. Manish Arora, Prof. Manish Khanna, Prof. Mann Agarwal, Prof. Nidhi Agarwal, Prof. Komal Soni, Prof. SK Mahajan , Prof. Naveen Saini, Prof. Naveen Sood, Prof. S.K.
